Work is progressing quickly and we're nearing the final assembly stage.  Cal welded on the car for another week and I helped with fabrication of small components when I could.  We had another good thrash day on a Saturday: Bunny, Jeff and Andy came out to help too.  The rear-end is complete.  Rear half of the fuel system is done and the front half has been thought out, just waiting on a few components.  A lot of time has gone into little details to help with assembly and maintenance in case something needs to be pulled off the car in a hurry and swapped.

Well, it's been since February since we've had an update on the project, things have really been moving lately. Great progress has been made on wiring and the roll cage, but there have been some other big developments too. The biggest change to the project is that the car grew another turbo...  The project started with a single TC-76 turbo, but the engine outsized that turbo on the engine dyno, so a Precision Turbo PT-78 was purchased.  That has been the project plan since last Fall, but two 66-mm Borg Warner turbos have been lurking in the shop.  A few weeks ago the idea popped up and after lots of discussion, they made their way onto the car.  That means that in the past two week an ENTIRELY NEW turbo system has been built from scratch including two custom headers that Cal fabricated.  Read on for more info and pictures.

Custom box to replace spare tire well
Custom fabrication and wiring

We had a few solid days of wrench time in this month and the car is starting to take shape.  The spare tire well was cut out of the trunk and Cal & Bunny bent up some sheet-metal to make a new box that was better suited for a race car.  One Friday night we pulled a late-nighter and Andy, Jeff and Bunny all came over for some late night wrenching where we got a lot of fabrication and wiring done.  Check out the post for more pics.
